there is no doubt that the people of Saskatchewan love there Roughriders but fridays announcment of a stadium to be be built at Evraz Place could pit the people against the team and the city . A year ago the mayor was all for a big stadium on the CP rail yard site , he even tried suckering in the feds to help build it and
 then became mad when they said to stuff that idea were the sun don't shine .
 As of today that plan is not good enough anymore . Apparently the land that they were going to use is not big enough for a stadium and we would have been led down the garden path to a big Stadium in our back yard only to realise that it really wasnt there intention to build it there anyway ( sound familar ) .
No there real intention was to help there croneys and Evraz Place .
who in the last year have ran the Royal Red horse show out of town and have tried to run the Regina Pats out to buy raiseing the rent or lease .
Now the Riders need a new building the current one is 100 years old and just aint cutting the mustard any more .
but they are going to be blamed when there are cost over runs and tax increases and fees added to tickets to help pay for this . and it will not be there fault . about 4 years ago they presented a plan to reno the old Stadium but the mayor and provence said no build new, i guess the 110 million price wasnt high enough for the politicos  and now the blood sport of politics in Sask will have another unwilling victum in the roughriders.
 which goes to show that football and politics just dont mix well.
